Sydney George Hulme Beaman, born in 1887 and who died 4 February 1932, was an author & illustrator best known as the creator of the Toytown stories and their characters including Larry the Lamb. He also illustrated the 1930s John Lane, edition of a Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. This collection contains; Wally the Kangaroo (who replaces Rudolph on Santa's sleigh), Teddy's New Job, Jimmy the Baby Elephant, Jenny the Giraffe, Ham and Egg and Grunty the Pig.
