This is an original 1938 folio Art Treasures in USSR: The State Hermitage in Leningrad – 30 Paintings of the Flemish, Dutch, and French Schools, published by State Publishers “Art” (Moscow & Leningrad), printed in the USSR. It contains 30 tipped-in plates reproducing famous works from the Hermitage Museum.
Condition – Please Read Carefully
This folio is in very poor condition and is being sold AS-IS for historical or collectible purposes:
• Binding – Nearly completely detached, holding on by a small section. The folio cover is loose, and the spine is in very bad shape.
• Pages – Heavy fading/yellowing throughout from age, plus significant water damage to the lower sections of many pages. Some staining is dark and covers a large area.
• General Wear – Creases, edge wear, corner bending, and overall fragility from 87 years of age and poor storage conditions.
Despite the condition issues, all 30 plates are present, and many remain suitable for framing or display.
