Civil War Union Soldier Bth
A fascinating bit of history here I think. First it is 15” tall to the top of the glass globes. The base is 5” across and sourpuss statue is 7” tall. I have researched this on and off for a couple years. I don’t think this is antique to the actual war. Some things just don’t add up to be that old. The American Civil War Centennial ended in 1965 with the 100th anniversary of the surrender at Appomattox. I would think its older than that- but that’s date to go with. If you are a Civil War buff, this is great for your collection to give a somber flavor. I have never seen another. No makers mark.
