Hertwig Co Katzhutte Porcellan Black Stallion Horse - Germany. The porcelain factory of Hertwig & Co existed from 1894 to 1990 in Katzhutte, Thuringia, Germany. Initially founded by Christopher Hertwig and Benjamin Beyermann in 1864, the company began to produce decorative from 1900 onwards. This stunning glossy finish black stallion with white socks, ears pricked, is facing left and is posed on a grass-like embossed base. Wonderful collector piece for the animal or horse enthusiast.
Preowned in very good vintage condition with no chips or repairs. Minor shelf wear on unglazed bottom rim. Stamped with green 'cat H house' Germany on underside C 1914-45. Measures approx. 10.5" L and 9.75" H (tip of ears).
