Description:
Adlai E. Stevenson (1900-1965) was the Democratic presidential candidate in 1952 and 1956. He was the grandson of Vice President Adlai E. Stevenson who served under President Grover Cleveland (1893-1897). In both of Stevenson’s presidential campaigns, he faced Dwight D. Eisenhower. And in both cases, it was advantage Eisenhower. Stevenson decided not to run again in 1960, and upon Kennedy’s election he was appointed U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. As a memento of Stevenson’s campaign, we offer this 2.5 inch black & white flasher button. Tilt the button and observe Stevenson’s image, tilt it the other direction and you will see the campaign slogan “All the Way With Adlai". This unique button, now over half a century old.
