Vintage WM Rogers Plate #170 with decorative pierced edge and Acanthus leaves scroll pattern decoration in the center of the platter with roped edge. The bottom of the plate is inscribed with the (Eagle) WM. Rogers (Star) emblem 170. This is the individual mark used on coin and silver spoons (Hartford, CT, 1825 – 1841). From 1878 to 1893 the mark was used in silverplate flatware by Simpson Hall, Miller & Co under permission of William Rogers JR. This mark continued to be used until 1976 in silverplated flatware. There is some inner and outer plate ware on the tray. But mostly, it is in good vintage condition. Some good silver polishing should further enhance the beauty. The silver is bright and shiny. All imperfections are age related and the item is sold as is. The plate measures 12 ¼ inches round. About 9 inches across the base of the platter. And ¾ inches high. Only one is available. Photos show phone, ceiling fan and face reflected in the silver but can’t find a way to eliminate.
