CANCELED 'X-FACTOR' TO BE REPLACED WITH SPINOFF TITLE
-Factor's Havok is losing his team to get his own solo adventure.
Marvel Comics has announced it will cancel X-Factor with issue #148 and replace it with a spin-off title, Mutant Xin August. X-Factor writer Howard Mackie will write the new series with Tom Raney (StormWatch) penciling.
"The change is part of the X-Men's 35th anniversary." Marvel Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras said. "We wanted to make the X-books a little more diverse and this is our first step in mutating the X-franchise."
Mutant X will launch directly out of an event occurring in X-Factor #149 that will throw Alex Summers, Havok, into an all-new parallel Marvel Universe. Once Havok realizes he's lost in another dimension, he'll have two choices-figure out how to get home, or come to terms that he's trapped and figure out a way to live the rest of his life there.
