The new US Army ECWCS third generation (Generation 3) is a layering system designed to handle various climates and situations, consisting of 7 types of tops and 5 types of bottoms.

This Level 6 is a jacket designed for EXTREME COLD WEATHER (extremely cold/wet climates).
The fabric is windproof, waterproof, and uses GORE-TEX PACLITE ripstop, making it lightweight and compact.
The jacket collar has a built-in hood, and the chest zipper is a pass-through ventilation system.

It can be worn alone, or layered with Level 3 fleece or Level 7 outerwear for increased warmth, allowing for various layering options in different environments.

It can be packed compactly, making it convenient to carry, and is often used as rainwear or for items that prioritize lightweight design.
