Hand-picked from the Springerville Volcanic Field in east-central Arizona, these two rocks are each segments of ribbon lava bombs. You can see hard, dense centers in each rock, along with banded layers of pockmarks running through them in a tabular fashion. Originally part of longer strings of molten lava, they broke off from the main string and formed separate rocks as they cooled. They range in size from roughly 4 to 4½ across their longest sides and stand 4 and 5 tall, respectively.
Lava rocks are ideal for use in aquariums or terrariums, and are an ideal base for planting small succulents. IMPORTANT: These rocks are shipped in a natural state and need to be prepared before use.
