Antique Talavera handmade, hand-painted stoneware pitcher with pinch spout and large handle. The signature of Talavera Duran VI indicates it is from Talavera Spain collection. Duran is the name of a workshop, likely Alfar Duran, known for producing Talavera pottery, particularly during the mid-20th century. I acquired this at an estate sale so I do not know its exact age. Decorative painting, smooth finish, intricate detailing. Any inconsistencies in the glaze is due to historical methods. All of the painting on this pitcher/vase wine jug/decanter is nicely executed, with a floral motif all around, with a central floral image on the front of the jar.
8" tall x 6.5" wide; opening measures 3”x 3.5”. Excellent condition ~ no chips or cracks, some crazing appropriate to age of piece. Stunning pitcher.
