This is a 1960 & 1973 retired fascinating Royal Doulton Tam O'Shanter & The Falconer English heritage collection character small and large jugs. Royal Doulton proudly presents a finely detailed character jug that pays tribute to the English forerunner traditions. O'Shanter was a drunken farmer who runs into witches who pursue him and his horse. The Falconer was once called the sports of Kings. Is the art of training birds of prey for the hunt. It began in China over 3000 years ago. These are handmade and hand decorated character jugs which were beautifully sculpted by Max Henk. Item is number D 6540 issued in 1960 & D 6632 1973. The large O'Shanter is 7 tall & the small Falconer is 3.75 . Excellent condition. No chips, cracks, or scratches. No original box or paperwork included. Original retail price is 225 for both.
