This piece is a vintage Irish linen handkerchief with variegated pastel tatting. Tatting is a technique for handcrafting lace.
White fabric with a delicate, colorful tatted edge.
The tatting features lavender, blue, peach, pink, and green threads. This handkerchief was made with a shuttle, which I still own.
It is approximately a 12 " square.
Hand-embellished with hand-stitched hems.
The variegated pastel color scheme is particularly attractive and somewhat rare. This piece is over 60 years old.
This handkerchief ships from a smoke free environment.
This is from my personal collection and this piece is very delicate.
