Born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1901, Walt Disney went on to create some of the most famous cartoon characters in history. In addition, Disney envisioned the construction of two theme parks that bear his name.The 1968 Walt Disney stamp was one of the few stamps at the time to not be printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The Post Office selected Union-Camp because they wanted the stamp to have soft pastel colors that matched Disney’s color palate.
