Iron is solid brass with a wooden handle. This is a slug box iron that hinges on the backside allowing a heated slug to be slid inside. The top portion is decorated with an etched floral piece in the center and heavier, notched designs on the nose and tail. This iron is a smaller size, measuring about 5 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches long. 3 inches wide.
Iron Stand/Trivet is solid brass and marked No 5 underneath. There is also another stamped mark at the point. It has two stacked circles with a 3 and a 1 (or an I). The shape continues down to a point and there is a 4 there. There are perhaps 3 letters in-between, but I can not make them out. Sits level on 3 feet. Measures about 10 inches long and 4 1/4 inches wide. Just about an inch tall.
