Used these two books and passed the test in the first attempt. Spent less than 5 months to prep for the test.
The yellow book covers the basics. I spent 3 days per lesson/quiz. Spent 4 months. The book includes one exam at the end with the same layout as the actual exam. There are erased but a bit of visible writing marks on the first two lessons. (picture included)
The green book includes 16 practice exams to help prepare. I used it as if it were a real exam and only went through it once per exam - worth 16 days. No writing marks on this book.
Besides the two books, I used the Kanji Kentei app to quiz myself by sections.
