Stereoview features a large group of Victorian era people posing for the photograph in what I believe to be Fern Park.
Fern Park (built in 1860’s) was a forested hillside park located near the former “Old Orchard House” that was filled with paths, arbors, rustic retreats decorated by cunning art and embellished with quaint conceits.
The trees along the avenues had wooden tablets with verses from English and American poets. The Oratory, the Astronomer’s Seat, The Parson’s Lodge and the monument to Mr. Bull were amount the most interesting
objects. The area at the time was widely regarded as having no parallel in the country.
Date is likely 1870’s - 1880’s.
