Bio on the Artist:
Marian Curtis Foster was born in 1909 in Cleveland, OH, and attended Shophie Newcomb College, the Art Students League in New York City, and Grande Chaumiere in Paris, France. She wrote under the pseudonym Mariana. She was an author and illustrator of children's books, primarily working in watercolor and gouache. She died October 27, 1978 in Southhampton, NY.
