About the artist: Neal Doty was born in Glendale, California in 1941. His art education began at the Art Center of Design in Los Angeles. Doty went on to study at Los Angeles City College where he received his Associates Degree in Fine Art. Neal then completed his education at California State University at Northridge and earned his BA Degree in Fine Art. A Vietnam vet, Doty attended USC Medical School as well, working for several years as a Paramedic. The multi-talented artist met Abstract Expressionist painter Hans Burkhardt while still an art student - he cites his friend as a much-loved mentor who taught him to never lose control of his paintbrush.
