This is an original 1980 rubiks cube and judging by the price tag on the original box it was not a mail away. I can't quite figure out if it was old stock put out later or just what you would find in a small drug store. Or possiblely what came out at the very beginning. Most of the originals I've seen say rubik's cube embossed into the middle white square and this one says it, but it's a sticker on the square. The box is definitely different from what I usually see. It is dated 1980 and has five patent numbers on it. The price sticker on the box has been ripped, but it looks like it says it was originally .89 cents and was dropped to .49 cents. Although most cubes were around 1.99 in 1980. It's in pretty decent condition. Comes with original instruction pamphlet, dated 1980.
This particular cube seems to have been owned by uncle Owen and I'd imagine Aunt Beru made him get rid of it.
