A POV cut is a shot filmed from a character’s point of view. Context is essential when creating a POV cut. For the audience to understand that the shot represents a POV, it is usually led by a shot of a character looking in a certain direction corresponding to the POV.
For a POV to be effective, it must match the perspective of the character in the scene. In other words, it should match their eye line height, position on the set, and the angle of direction they were looking in the previous shot.
