Syndication

Overview

Syndication in broadcast television refers to the distribution of television shows or films to independent commercial television stations. Since it’s difficult to supply new and original programming 24 hours of the day, syndicated shows are broadcast to fill in the timeslots between. For a show to become viable for syndication, a milestone of 100 episodes is usually implemented so that a show can run 5 times a week for 20 weeks.
