A POV, or point of view shot, is a framing that is intended to reveal to the audience exactly what a character is seeing from their vantage point. This is frequently used in anthropomorphic scenes, such as a scene with a dog character, but is also commonly used in dialogue scenes to reveal what one of the characters is seeing. In this case, the shot is usually preceded by a turn of the character’s head to indicate to the audience that the following shot is connected to what that character has turned to see.
