Envelope in digital editing systems, refers to the curve created by keyframes in a keyframe curve graph.

The shape of the envelope can be changed by modifying and creating keyframes. This is sometimes called, rubber-banding.

The terms, envelope, curve and graph are used interchangeably depending on the software.
