3:2 pulldown

Overview

3:2 pull-down refers to a scheme to convert 24 frame per second film to 30 frame per second video. Two fields of video are used to represent the first frame of film, then three fields of video to represent the next frame, hence the 3 and 2 in the name of the technique. When this is repeated twice, four frames of film fit neatly into five frames of video. Thus 24 frames of film will fit into 30 frames of video.!
