Overview

In lighting, a gel is a color transparent material applied to the front of a light to tint its color. Gels are designed to withstand the high temperatures emitted by lighting sources and are typically made from polycarbonate or polyester. Gel colors are usually referred to by manufacturer codes with Rosco numbers being a common designation used in production environments.
