MOS is one of those mysterious terms that often crops up in filmmaking. MOS means shooting without sound. Declaring a shot to be MOS is important; it means the crew doesn’t need to be quiet on set, the sound crew can rest their aching boom-wielding arms, and an editor in post doesn’t need to worry about syncing audio sources.
