Optical flow is the process of analyzing the movement of pixels from one frame to the next and recording the speed and direction of their movements.These recorded movements–called motion vectors– can then be used to warp objects into new positions to create smooth, in-between frames when retiming. This technology is also commonly referred to as motion estimation.
