Claudia's Sparrow's American Film Institute thesis film EL AMERICANO, shot in Lima, Peru and Los Angeles, won a 2009 Student Emmy Award in the drama category. Claudia is also the recipient of the 2009 Franklin J. Schaffner Fellow Award for directing EL AMERICANO. She has been recognized in El Comercio, the premiere Peruvian newspaper, and Caras Magazine as one of the ten prominent female filmmakers in Peru.
