Key Number

Key numbers are an invention of the Eastman Kodak Company, which are imprinted onto the sides of film at regular intervals. These numbers contain information about the film stock’s batch number, type of emulsion, and even correspond to the frames so that a conform edit can be made with the original negative from a work print.
